Years ago there was a process and result called a dream sheet.  It was actually a form, go figure, where you could submit the places where you would like to be stationed.  For pilots, it also addressed which airframes.  I cannot validate that it worked, as we enjoyed every one of our assignments, even the one or two that had no dreams attached.  Dream sheets now seem to be called bucket lists, but I confess I still like the dream sheet idea.
God adds His twist to our dreams and desires to help us understand the realities in life, saying, “Many plans are in a person’s heart, but the LORD’s decree will prevail.”  And why would we want it any other way?  After all, if God’s not happy… well, there’s a great probably that neither will we by happy, for “There is a way that seems right to a person, but its end is the way to death.” Not good!
Father, thank You for Your balance and blessings of not answering some of our prayers!  But also thank You for Your plans for us, thoughts of peace and for our good.  Guide us by Your wisdom and will, and may that happen on earth as it is in heaven.
What’s listed on your dream sheet?  “Commit your activities to the LORD, and your plans will be established.  A person’s heart plans his or her way, but the LORD determines your steps.”  Check with Him for your next “move,” travel, deal, or event.  Your dream sheet is in His hands.

living w/god: Baptismal speech

I am Desire and this is my son Enrique Gianluca. Today, I am here to share with you how God has changed my life.

For a long time, I wondered why, why things were not happening the way I wanted them to happen, after all, I was working hard, I was providing, I was strong, and I trusted myself.  As I looked for answers, I turned to the world, but the world was not providing answers.  I found myself blind, hopeless, and disoriented, and I lost all perspective. In my desperation, I turned to Christ, and I asked Him to come into my life and free me from this burden and guide me to live for him.

It was not until God heard my request that I received answers. The day that He knocked on my door and I opened my heart to Him was the day I understood I inflicted this pain on myself because, for a long time, I trusted myself instead of trusting Him, I relied on myself when I should rely on His promise. Jesus said on Matthew 11: 28-29 “Come upon Me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me. For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul, and My yoke is easy, and my burden is light

When God came into my life, he offered me a new beginning, a new life, and I embraced it with open arms because for the very first time, I understood that I am not alone and I should not be afraid because everything is under His control, not mine, and so I trust Him, and today I declare Him as my savior, my refuge, and my strength.
