In the old telephone days of secure communications, there would be a push-to-talk switch on the telephone hand piece.  This was a good device, unless someone was finger-heaving, like a lead foot on a gas pedal.  When engaged, the microphone was hot, transmitting.  When released, the other party was able to do the same, push their talk switch and talk. Hot mic.
Jesus is on a roll, refreshingly teaching the local people on a hillside of Galilee; not like the religious leaders, but with power, authority.  “When you pray, don’t babble like the Gentiles, since they imagine they’ll be heard for their many words.  Don’t be like them, because your Father knows the things you need before you ask Him;” reemphasizing what God has said to His prophet, “Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and incomprehensible things you do not know.”  It’s us who need to “get it out,” not God Who needs the details (for He already knows, yes!).  He also told another, “Even before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will hear.”
Father, how good to know assuredly that in need or just in thanking You that You actively hear us, knowing even the motives of our hearts.  Thank You also for Your tolerance.  Forgive us through Christ, cleanse us, refresh us through Your Spirit, resulting in learning of You, following You obediently, and giving service unto You and Your kingdom.
So ask as allowed, even ordered, but with the right and respectful attitude, positionally.  “Do not be hasty to speak, and do not be impulsive to make a speech before God.  God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.”  Hot mic.  No need to keep your trigger figure on the switch long for every prayerful talk and subject, rather, honor Him by your faith through Jesus Himself, “enter His gates withthanks and His courtyard with praise“ and confidently engage — Him.  May your words honor the the truth of His words.

living w/god: Baptismal speech

I am Desire and this is my son Enrique Gianluca. Today, I am here to share with you how God has changed my life.

For a long time, I wondered why, why things were not happening the way I wanted them to happen, after all, I was working hard, I was providing, I was strong, and I trusted myself.  As I looked for answers, I turned to the world, but the world was not providing answers.  I found myself blind, hopeless, and disoriented, and I lost all perspective. In my desperation, I turned to Christ, and I asked Him to come into my life and free me from this burden and guide me to live for him.

It was not until God heard my request that I received answers. The day that He knocked on my door and I opened my heart to Him was the day I understood I inflicted this pain on myself because, for a long time, I trusted myself instead of trusting Him, I relied on myself when I should rely on His promise. Jesus said on Matthew 11: 28-29 “Come upon Me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me. For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul, and My yoke is easy, and my burden is light

When God came into my life, he offered me a new beginning, a new life, and I embraced it with open arms because for the very first time, I understood that I am not alone and I should not be afraid because everything is under His control, not mine, and so I trust Him, and today I declare Him as my savior, my refuge, and my strength.
