I am constantly amazed at how much stuff can fit in a box, even two boxes when the goods are overflowing.  Another view is the number of boxes that are shipped, to your house or ours, a phenomenon that wasn’t around that long ago.
One of God’s authors began a letter in this manner, with the idea of quantity.  “Blessed (divinely happy) be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has blessed (gifted) us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.”  Talk about outta this world! — a statement that is truly beyond our comprehension.  You disagree?  Go ahead and try as you may, with all of your might, and see the list you might come up with, every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places — without reading ahead, of course! Don’t forget the “every!”
One of these was an exchange; you know, like exchanging political prisoners at a border crossing.  “In Him (Christ) we have redemption (being redeemed, traded, His blood (for our unholiness), the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, for without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.”  His blood traded for our sins, that we might be granted presence before God Who is holy.  Did you include this on your list?  And the riches of His undeserved grace? More than a care package.
Father, thank You for Your gifts, and even for including the instructions, without which we would not know how to turn on the switch or even unwrap the package.
The next time you receive a package that is gifted, remember what God has in His storehouse for you, “every spiritual gift in the heavenly places,” to include Himself, His presence, all and only because of love through Christ Jesus.

living w/god: Baptismal speech

I am Desire and this is my son Enrique Gianluca. Today, I am here to share with you how God has changed my life.

For a long time, I wondered why, why things were not happening the way I wanted them to happen, after all, I was working hard, I was providing, I was strong, and I trusted myself.  As I looked for answers, I turned to the world, but the world was not providing answers.  I found myself blind, hopeless, and disoriented, and I lost all perspective. In my desperation, I turned to Christ, and I asked Him to come into my life and free me from this burden and guide me to live for him.

It was not until God heard my request that I received answers. The day that He knocked on my door and I opened my heart to Him was the day I understood I inflicted this pain on myself because, for a long time, I trusted myself instead of trusting Him, I relied on myself when I should rely on His promise. Jesus said on Matthew 11: 28-29 “Come upon Me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me. For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul, and My yoke is easy, and my burden is light

When God came into my life, he offered me a new beginning, a new life, and I embraced it with open arms because for the very first time, I understood that I am not alone and I should not be afraid because everything is under His control, not mine, and so I trust Him, and today I declare Him as my savior, my refuge, and my strength.
