We all have a story, one that needs to be told: not the ugly side, but the side that has arisen out of the cold, the darkness, being beautiful and light-bearing, uplifting and refreshing; a building up and into the lives of others.
Perhaps you can relate to Hannah’s emptiness, her request of God, then fulfillment by God Himself.  She had been physically barren.  We have similar times in life, feeling all alone and without great worth, even in the midst of one another.  And then God opened her womb and there was life. Take a moment to hear her response:
“My heart rejoices in the LORD; my horn (countenance, poetically trumpet) is lifted up by the LORD.  My mouth boasts over my enemies, because I rejoice in Your salvation (deliverance).  There is no one holy like the LORD.  There is no one besides You! And there is no rock like our God.  Those who are starving hunger no more.  The woman who is childless gives birth to seven, but the woman with many sons pines away.  The LORD brings death and gives life; He sends some to Sheol, and He raises others up.
The LORD brings poverty and gives wealth; He humbles and He exalts.  He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the garbage pile.  He seats them with noblemen and gives them a throne of honor.  For the foundations of the earth are the LORD’s; He has set the world on them.  He guards the steps of His faithful ones, but the wicked perish in darkness, for a man does not prevail by his own strength.  Those who oppose the LORD will be shattered; He will thunder in the heavens against them.  The LORD will judge the ends of the earth.  He will give power to His king; He will lift up the horn of His anointed.”
What a response of true thanksgiving and worship in spirit and truth by this humble mother of a national leader to-be, Samuel.  And our responses to His loving interaction and deliverances?

living w/god: Baptismal speech

I am Desire and this is my son Enrique Gianluca. Today, I am here to share with you how God has changed my life.

For a long time, I wondered why, why things were not happening the way I wanted them to happen, after all, I was working hard, I was providing, I was strong, and I trusted myself.  As I looked for answers, I turned to the world, but the world was not providing answers.  I found myself blind, hopeless, and disoriented, and I lost all perspective. In my desperation, I turned to Christ, and I asked Him to come into my life and free me from this burden and guide me to live for him.

It was not until God heard my request that I received answers. The day that He knocked on my door and I opened my heart to Him was the day I understood I inflicted this pain on myself because, for a long time, I trusted myself instead of trusting Him, I relied on myself when I should rely on His promise. Jesus said on Matthew 11: 28-29 “Come upon Me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me. For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul, and My yoke is easy, and my burden is light

When God came into my life, he offered me a new beginning, a new life, and I embraced it with open arms because for the very first time, I understood that I am not alone and I should not be afraid because everything is under His control, not mine, and so I trust Him, and today I declare Him as my savior, my refuge, and my strength.
