We all are given the same amount of time daily.  Some can pack more in than others, accomplishing wonderful, full, things.  I recently watched a concrete pad being poured in a short order of time, with no time being wasted.  Zero.  One of the movies from my childhood was The Time Machine.  In it was a scene where the principle character was able to look out his window and see the seasons pass quickly by.  The leaves would turn, the store window would be decorated with the seasons, time would pass, visibly.
Jesus made a bold statement near the end of His earthly mission:  “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.”  Some things are meant to faithfully stay, and are relevant throughout time, for times beyond us.  These, the words of Jesus, continue; time after time.  They are just as fresh and real and true and effective as when He spoke them, touching each generation between Him then, us now, and those coming after us.
Father, help us never to forget Your spoken and written words, retained and proven relevant beyond changing philosophies.  Tune our hearts to Your richness in relationship, and may we allow “Your message about the Messiah dwell richly among us” and those nearby.
Time.  “Pay careful attention to how you walk — as wise (in sync with Him), making the most of the time, because the days are evil.”

living w/god: Baptismal speech

I am Desire and this is my son Enrique Gianluca. Today, I am here to share with you how God has changed my life.

For a long time, I wondered why, why things were not happening the way I wanted them to happen, after all, I was working hard, I was providing, I was strong, and I trusted myself.  As I looked for answers, I turned to the world, but the world was not providing answers.  I found myself blind, hopeless, and disoriented, and I lost all perspective. In my desperation, I turned to Christ, and I asked Him to come into my life and free me from this burden and guide me to live for him.

It was not until God heard my request that I received answers. The day that He knocked on my door and I opened my heart to Him was the day I understood I inflicted this pain on myself because, for a long time, I trusted myself instead of trusting Him, I relied on myself when I should rely on His promise. Jesus said on Matthew 11: 28-29 “Come upon Me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me. For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul, and My yoke is easy, and my burden is light

When God came into my life, he offered me a new beginning, a new life, and I embraced it with open arms because for the very first time, I understood that I am not alone and I should not be afraid because everything is under His control, not mine, and so I trust Him, and today I declare Him as my savior, my refuge, and my strength.
