Occasionally I’ll hear a statement about incarceration or release to freedom or even the quote, “The truth will set you free,” as sculpted on buildings from Ottawa to Tennessee and Idaho to the CIA.  There is naturally a truth to the statement, but to its origin, its context, there is more.  Even Marcus Pontius Pilatus, the Roman governor of Judea asked Jesus “What is truth?” in a tone of voice that seemed to have alluded being a statement of jest, not a question.
Truth is not what we decide to be truth, for without ultimate authority, our truth is a mere opinion.  It was Jesus Who said to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”  It is here that we see the context of the truth statement being a result, not the focus or the central truth to be taught.  Yes, the truth will set you free, even “loose” you from those mental and emotional ropes that bind you like an octopus.
Father, from the beginning of Your record to the end, You point us to what is true and reveal what is not true.  Draw our hearts-mind to be submissive as a child before You as our Father eternal, to learn Your ways and walk in Your truths from this step today and forevermore.
Jesus also revealed a secret hidden from the ages, that He Himself is truth, a statement of God Himself.  So let’s reassemble truth beyond a slogan, greater than a philosophical expression.  Follow His yellow brick road: [abide, live in and by His words of truth as originally proclaimed + chose to align with Him as your rabbi-teacher, master, Lord and eternal Savior, believing in Him], which results => in you knowing Truth, the Person, Who, in turn, will set you free! More than a slogan or a concept of philosophy.   Truth came to rescue us!

living w/god: Baptismal speech

I am Desire and this is my son Enrique Gianluca. Today, I am here to share with you how God has changed my life.

For a long time, I wondered why, why things were not happening the way I wanted them to happen, after all, I was working hard, I was providing, I was strong, and I trusted myself.  As I looked for answers, I turned to the world, but the world was not providing answers.  I found myself blind, hopeless, and disoriented, and I lost all perspective. In my desperation, I turned to Christ, and I asked Him to come into my life and free me from this burden and guide me to live for him.

It was not until God heard my request that I received answers. The day that He knocked on my door and I opened my heart to Him was the day I understood I inflicted this pain on myself because, for a long time, I trusted myself instead of trusting Him, I relied on myself when I should rely on His promise. Jesus said on Matthew 11: 28-29 “Come upon Me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me. For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul, and My yoke is easy, and my burden is light

When God came into my life, he offered me a new beginning, a new life, and I embraced it with open arms because for the very first time, I understood that I am not alone and I should not be afraid because everything is under His control, not mine, and so I trust Him, and today I declare Him as my savior, my refuge, and my strength.
